Strategy Overview

Dusknoir is a niche spinblocker with its main attribute being its high defensive stats allowing it to switch in and spinblock with less fear of being greatly weakened. However, this niche is limited by Dusknoir's poor HP stat and lack of reliable recovery. Dusknoir's movepool is also lacking, with a lack of physical Ghost-type moves leaving it heavy reliant on Earthquake to output damage. This, alongside Dusknoir's only average Attack stat, makes it somewhat passive even when holding a Choice Band. Golurk and Spiritomb both outclass Dusknoir offensively due to their secondary typings; Golurk has a powerful STAB Earthquake and Spiritomb has access to a STAB Sucker Punch and Pursuit, with their aforementioned typings also providing more defensive utility due to the additional resistances and immunities that come with them.
