Strategy Overview

Gogoat distinguishes itself from other Pokemon in the PU metagame with its good bulk along with reliable recovery in Milk Drink that allows it to survive throughout battles. Its typing gives it resistances to common offensive types such as Water, Ground, and Electric as well as immunity to Grass thanks to Sap Sipper. It has a very diverse offensive movepool, which gives it multiple options. On the downside, it is relatively weak without any boosts and it is very slow, making it vulnerable to status moves and revenge killers. It faces major competition from multiple Grass-types in the metagame, namely Roselia, Tangela, Jumpluff, and Leafeon, each of which has a niche over Gogoat, making it hard for Gogoat to earn a teamslot.
