Strategy Overview
Sudowoodo is directly outclassed by Golem due to its lack of a Ground STAB type and its lower Speed, as well as by Probopass, which can gain momentum with Volt Switch but lacks priority on Stealth Rock. Wood Hammer provides an extremely small niche over Golem that allows Sudowoodo to hit Ground- and Water-types super effectively. Sudowoodo has very low Special Defense and Speed, which leaves it vulnerable to special attackers such as Floatzel and Simipour. However, Sturdy paired with Sudowoodo's large Defense almost guarantees Stealth Rock will be set up.
