Simisage

Simisage's main appeal is its diverse movepool that provides it with great coverage, allowing it to hit almost everything in the tier for super effective damage and helping it threaten typical Grass-type checks like Oricorio-G, Articuno, and Altaria. Simisage is a nuisance to switch into once it's able to get onto the field, as it has very few consistent defensive checks, and its solid Speed tier can also make it an immediately threatening Pokemon against offensive teams. Unfortunately, while Simisage is fast, it's hugely susceptible to Pokemon that outspeed it like Dodrio and Choice Scarf users like Skuntank, Primeape, and Abomasnow due to its poor bulk and exploitable typing. Given these attributes in addition to Life Orb recoil, Simisage can't risk switching in and relies on pivots in order for it to safely come in and deal damage. Simisage also faces competition from Abomasnow, a mixed attacker that offers utility with hail and has access to priority and a second STAB typing. It also competes with Victreebel and Ludicolo, two Grass-types that offer superior longevity while hitting harder.
