Its competition either has the ability Scrappy like Kangaskhan and Stoutland or is a fast and extraordinarily strong breaker that does not necessarily require coverage to take on Ghost-types like Dodrio. Lopunny does have a minuscule niche with Klutz and Switcheroo, but that does not avoid the fact that Lopunny is still seriously weak.
