Strategy Overview

Breloom's useful offensive toolkit, which includes Technician-boosted STAB Mach Punch and the ever-infuriating Spore gives it a small niche on hyper offensive teams, being able to offensively check threats like Greninja and threaten to put foes to sleep with its perfectly accurate Spore. It's able to threaten defensive Water-types with its similarly Technician-boosted Bullet Seed and punish the likes of Volcarona and the Mega Charizard formes that switch in with Rock Tomb. However, Breloom struggles to find consistent use due to its very limited and linear nature, often becoming death fodder after spreading the unreliable sleep to an opposing Pokemon. It's outclassed as a Fighting-type and a priority user by the likes of Mega Lopunny and Mega Medicham, and once its Focus Sash is broken by entry hazards, it's outsped and threatened out by countless Pokemon like Tornadus-T, Mega Charizard X, and Volcarona.
