Strategy Overview
Banette has a decent Attack stat, priority moves like Sucker Punch and Shadow Sneak, support moves like Will-O-Wisp, and an immunity to sleep. However, Banette has very low stats across the board otherwise, making it too frail and too slow to be viable in PU. Besides, it gets Pursuit trapped or revenge killed incredibly easily by threats like Skuntank. Even its immunity to sleep isn't unique enough to be a niche, as many Grass-types like Victreebel, Abomasnow, and Tangela are also immune to Spore and Sleep Powder anyway. In the end, there are better Ghost-types in the tier, like Golurk and Jellicent, which have higher bulk and better offensive movepools and typings.
