Togedemaru

Togedemaru is a versatile Steel-type pivot capable of multiple roles thanks to its rare defensive traits and great movepool. With Wish + Spiky Shield, it's one of the only Steel-types with reliable recovery, and its ability Lightning Rod also means it can wall Rotom-C and block Volt Switch. Offensively, Togedemaru makes a great pivot and revenge killer to threats like Talonflame and Starmie. Unfortunately, unlike other Steel-types that it competes with, Togedemaru is quite frail. While it can deter STAB attacks from special wallbreakers like Exploud and Choice Specs Sylveon, it struggles to tank their stronger coverage: Exploud's Overheat will OHKO Togedemaru. Choice Scarf Togedemaru is especially frail and cannot afford to switch into even resisted attacks from the likes of Galarian Articuno and Vanilluxe. Togedemaru isn't necessarily the strongest either and will struggle versus anything bulky enough that carries strong coverage for retaliation.
