Strategy Overview

Omanyte is a powerful setup sweeper in LC thanks to Shell Smash and a very good movepool that allows it to hit almost every Pokemon super effectively. It also works very well as an entry hazard setter, providing Stealth Rock and Spikes support. Omanyte's typing and bulk allow it to switch into prominent metagame forces like Choice-locked Vulpix and boost its stats or set entry hazards. However, Omanyte's viability is severely hindered by the presence of Grookey and Timburr, which can easily remove it with strong priority moves.
