Strategy Overview
Slugma might seem appealing due to its ability to spread burns and prevent setup with Memento, but it's not very good at this role due to its poor bulk, low Speed, and common weaknesses to Rock and Ground. Outside of its access to Memento and Clear Smog to stop setup, it's completely outclassed by both Ponyta and Larvesta, as they both can use their superior base stats to spread burns more effectively.
