Strategy Overview

Poison

Crobat provides entry hazard removal while also providing a key Ground immunity, allowing Poison teams to take on powerful and threatening Ground-types like Choice Scarf Excadrill and Landorus, making it a great utility Pokemon for Poison. Its high Speed allows it to work as a great fast pivot by chipping foes with U-turn and switching into teammates like Mega Venusaur and Toxapex. Crobat also has access to Taunt, which can help prevent opposing walls from healing, setup sweepers from setting up, and utility Pokemon from setting hazards. Crobat's mediocre bulk limits its ability to switch in on attacks and hazards continuously throughout the battle and forces it to switch out to defensive teammates frequently, which limits its opportunities to use Roost and Defog. Although its Flying typing provides an important Ground immunity, it also comes with a weakness to Rock-, Ice-, and Electric-type moves, all of which are extremely common coverage and a weakness to Stealth Rock, which limits Crobat's ability to switch in and Defog throughout a battle. Crobat's mediocre Attack also prevents it from doing any notable damage to most defensive Pokemon, as they can easily recover any damage taken.
