Raikou

Raikou is a decent pivot and setup sweeper, using its high Speed and Special Attack, along with Calm Mind boosts, to wear down opposing special walls like Copperajah and Bronzong. Its typing allows it to resist Kilowattrel's STAB moves and Brave Bird from Flamigo, which enables it to begin setting up with Calm Mind or use its high Speed to revenge kill non-Choice Scarf Flamigo. It has a variety of coverage moves, such as Scald and Shadow Ball, but to actually threaten the Ground- and Grass-types that wall it like Flygon, Gligar, Swampert, and Tsareena, it usually requires Tera Blast Fairy or Tera Blast Ice. Furthermore, Raikou usually only has space for one coverage move, so it has to choose which checks to target: Tera Blast Fairy doesn't seriously threaten Gligar; Tera Blast Ice doesn't do much to Swampert; and Scald is impotent against Covert Cloak Tsareena, and if it doesn't burn Flygon, that foe is still very threatening. While Raikou can, given either time or sufficient Calm Mind boosts, break special walls like Bronzong, they can threaten it back with Earthquake. Raikou can also be picked off by physical Choice Scarf users like Flygon, Flamigo, and Infernape. In addition, Raikou faces competition from other common Electric-types Kilowattrel and Toxtricity, with the former being faster and Ground immune and the latter having more immediate power and an easier time setting up.
