Strategy Overview
Noivern swoops into RU as a premier speedy Pokemon that can fill both offensive and defensive roles. Due to Noivern's resistance to common offensive types like Fire, Water, and Fighting, it can be a great defensive sponge by switching into both special and physical attackers such as Volcanion and Gallade. It can then use this opportunity to remove entry hazards with Defog, chunk a switch-in with either Super Fang or Draco Meteor, or pivot on switch-ins with U-turn. It can outspeed and force out Pokemon such as Cyclizar, Gengar, and Raikou, threatening them with Draco Meteor. Noivern can keep itself healthy with Roost, allowing it to come in multiple times per game in order to do its job. However, Noivern struggles with common Choice Scarf users such as Gardevoir and Galarian Zapdos, as they can outspeed and deal massive damage to it. Noivern can also struggle a lot with Fairy-types such as Mimikyu and Gardevoir, which can switch into its main STAB option in Draco Meteor and hit it super effectively. Noivern also immensely struggles with bulky Pokemon such as Umbreon, Jirachi, and Registeel, as they can easily switch into it and either make progress against it or set up on it.
