Strategy Overview
Venonat's niche lies in its extensive utility movepool, which includes Thief, Toxic Spikes, Morning Sun, and Sleep Powder. Compound Eyes makes Sleep Powder 97.5% accurate and a very reliable way to put opposing Pokemon to sleep. Venonat's typing gives it two 4x resistances to Fighting and Grass, but it also comes with weaknesses to Flying-, Fire-, Rock-, and Psychic-type attacks as well as a Stealth Rock. While Venonat has excellent support options, its offensive presence is very weak and shouldn't be relied on.
