Strategy Overview

Parasect is a bad Pokemon in PU that is outclassed by other Grass-types such as Tangela and Gourgeist-XL, with Tangela having more bulk thanks to Eviolite and Gourgeist-XL having a better defensive typing and the ability to burn its opponents with Will-O-Wisp. Parasect's typing is very poor defensively, giving it common weaknesses to Fire-types, such as Ninetales, Flying-types, such as Jumpluff, and Poison-types, such as Roselia. In addition to this, Parasect has subpar defensive stats, a crippling weakness to Stealth Rock, and a low Speed stat. Parasect is also unable to make use of its resistances because most Pokemon run super effective coverage moves, such as Raichu with Hidden Power Ice, and Floatzel with Ice Beam, preventing Parasect from countering them.
