Leafeon

Leafeon is a decent Swords Dance sweeper in the metagame due to good bulk that lets it set up on certain physical attackers such as Rhydon and Torterra, a solid Speed tier that lets it outpace key threats such as Mesprit, Lilligant, and Kangaskhan, and high Attack. In addition, its unique coverage options in Leaf Blade, Knock Off, and Natural Gift can break apart common balance cores. However, although Leafeon's Grass typing comes with very helpful resistances to Water-, Ground-, and Electric-type attacks, weaknesses to numerous common attacking types and low Special Defense leave it vulnerable to very common Pokemon such as Scyther, Garbodor, and Vileplume, which can prevent Leafeon from setting up Swords Dance while taking minimal damage from its attacks, and sometimes prevent Leafeon from switching into threats it should, such as Assault Vest Lanturn and Poliwrath with Ice Beam. Furthermore, it faces heavy competition as an offensive Swords Dance user from Sawsbuck and Shiftry due to their access to secondary STAB in Double-Edge and Knock Off respectively. Due to this competition Leafeon is a relatively niche pick and should only be used on teams which need its particular qualities.
