Strategy Overview

Despite having a unique signature ability in Illusion, Zoroark is an unviable choice in the metagame. It has poor bulk and faces absurd amounts of competition from the likes of Hydreigon and Mega Houndoom, both of which sport dual typings and are stronger Dark-type attackers right off the bat. In addition, Zoroark sits at an unfortunate Speed tier where prevalent Pokemon like Cobalion, Terrakion, and Latias can easily revenge kill it. Illusion is also one-time use and can be scouted for through entry hazards, making Zoroark's only defining trait far less useful in practice.
