Strategy Overview
- Gale Wings Brave Bird is an excellent check to both fast and Trick Room teams. Talonflame is an important emergency button on offense for when speed control is not in your favor.
- Even against bulky teams, Talonflame can 2HKO just about anything and has a few good resistances to Fire, Fairy, and Ground. Notably, it is a ghetto check to Substitute Heatran, Sylveon, and Kyurem-B.
- Stealth Rock's increasing popularity keeps Talonflame in check. It can still easily get a single KO with Stealth Rock up but will rarely get more, and it will be reliably revenge killed by Fake Out.
