Strategy Overview

Exeggcute's unique Grass / Psychic typing is both a blessing and a curse, granting it seven weaknesses and six resistances. Harvest and Chlorophyll are great abilities that work well on sun-based teams, and the sun also grants Exeggcute recovery options that allow it to fill a niche in Little Cup. It has also good Defense and Special Attack, allowing it to function offensively and defensively. Exeggcute does have several limitations, however. It is beaten by the ever-present Knock Off and U-turn, its lackluster Speed and Special Defense leave it prey for most special attackers, and it is somewhat outclassed by Pokemon such as Trubbish and Cottonee because they have more reliable recovery.
