Strategy Overview

Mega Mawile is a powerful wallbreaker capable of checking many common threats in Battle Spot Singles such as Mega Salamence and Tapu Lele. Its low Speed allows it to work as an effective Trick Room attacker, while access to Sucker Punch allows it to bypass its low Speed out of Trick Room. Mega Mawile's great defensive typing and access to Intimidate prior to Mega Evolution give it an easier time setting up and breaking through teams. However, Mawile's poor bulk before Mega Evolving makes it difficult to switch it into foes directly, and weaknesses to common Ground- and Fire-type moves bring it down. Its low Speed also makes it dependent on Trick Room to sweep reliably, so it usually requires support to be used effectively.

Below is a sample set. This set is likely to be standard, but it will be expanded upon and updated as the metagame progresses.
