Ghost

Golurk performs the role of an offensive Stealth Rock setter for Trick Room teams. Its Ground typing also provides Ghost-type teams with a valuable immunity to Electric-type attacks, letting it take on Pokemon like Tapu Koko. Golurk has access to a decent amount of coverage options to support its good Attack stat; Stone Edge gives it good coverage in combination with Earthquake, while Dynamic Punch lets it deal with Dark-type Pokemon like Hydreigon and Tyranitar better. Its ability No Guard lets it always land high-powered but low-accuracy moves like Dynamic Punch and Stone Edge. However, Golurk's low Speed makes it susceptible to faster Taunt users such as Aerodactyl, Gliscor, and Mew and attackers that can deal super effective damage to it. Golurk is outclassed by Alolan Marowak, which not only can set up Stealth Rock but also doubles as a wallbreaker and provides immunity from Electric-type attacks due to its ability in Lightning Rod. As a result, Golurk only truly excels when Alolan Marowak cannot provide Stealth Rock to the team.
