Strategy Overview
While Chikorita is one of the most bulky Grass-types, it suffers from its shallow movepool and low offensive stats. It is outclassed by other Grass-types like Foongus, which has the ability Regenerator and an additional Poison typing that allows it to check Fighting- and Fairy-types. Due to Bulletproof, Chespin is another pure Grass-type option that is often a better choice than Chikorita because it can effectively check Gastly and Foongus, while also being a much less passive Pokemon overall.
