Strategy Overview

Despite decent offensive stats, Blitzle is outclassed by other Electric-types, namely Elekid, which is faster, has a higher Special Attack stat, and has a more diverse movepool. Blitzle is able to check Snivy, which is the only reason to use it over other Electric-types. Even still, Blitzle is not able to reliably check Snivy due to its frailty and lack of recovery, meaning it is easily chipped down by entry hazards and Snivy's coverage moves such as Hidden Power Ground. Additionally, Blitzle is not particularly strong, leaving it easily walled and revenge killed.
