Strategy Overview

A strong Ice-type STAB move in Blizzard and good Special Attack complemented by good coverage in Freeze-Dry and Earth Power make Aurorus a threatening wallbreaker. Its great offensive pressure and ability to beat nearly all of NU's entry hazard control options one-on-one mean that Aurorus can easily find space to set up Stealth Rock. However, despite its good natural bulk, its low Speed and exploitable typing, including weaknesses to Fighting-, Water-, and Ground-type attacks, means Aurorus is easily forced out. Additionally, despite being a Rock-type, Aurorus struggles to defensively check Flying-types such as Aerodactyl and Sigilyph, which can leave teams based around it in a tough spot.
