Volcarona is a fantastic sweeper for Bug teams thanks to Quiver Dance, its great Special Attack, and its solid natural bulk. Because of Volcarona's wide movepool, it can threaten to sweep almost any team, with coverage like Psychic and Giga Drain taking care of potential checks like Toxapex and Gastrodon. Roost also helps Volcarona gain multiple setup opportunities, which can make it very difficult to deal with. However, Volcarona struggles to fit all of its coverage options and relies on the opponent not knowing its set to sweep. Volcarona is also crippled by status conditions and Knock Off, as it is reliant on Heavy-Duty Boots to switch in safely on entry hazards.
