Strategy Overview

Tauros is a fast wallbreaker with completely unresisted coverage. Sheer Force and Life Orb make its STAB Body Slam nail walls like Vaporeon and Mantine. It also has the coverage for Pokemon that take Body Slam, like Close Combat for Copperajah and Throat Chop for Decidueye. Moreover, its great Speed allows it to function as a revenge killer and cleaner once teams are weakened. Still, Tauros is frail, so it cannot afford to trade hits with targets that avoid an OHKO from it, let alone against faster attackers like Starmie and Choice Scarf Rotom-C. It needs positioning support and ample chip damage before it can safely KO threats like Silvally-Ground and Tyrantrum, which makes it fall short as a reliable revenge killer for some teams. Tauros is also plagued by status from Talonflame and Vileplume and is unable to break through the bulkiest of physical walls, like Mudsdale.
