Strategy Overview

Mudsdale differentiates itself from other Stealth Rock setters like Copperajah, Galarian Stunfisk, and Diancie by better handling physical attackers such as Drapion, Tyrantrum, and Stakataka. Mudsdale's solid physical bulk, ability in Stamina, and typing help it match offensive power with defensive might to check these wallbreakers. Mudsdale also lacks passivity issues thanks to its high Attack and strong moves in STAB Earthquake and Body Press, the latter of which can take advantage of Stamina boosts. Mudsdale is otherwise far too easily to overwhelm with common special attackers like Starmie, Alolan Exeggutor, and Nasty Plot Salazzle. Additionally, Mudsdale is an ineffective Volt Switch deterrent because the most common Volt Switch users, Rotom-C and Heliolisk, can easily OHKO it with Leaf Storm and Grass Knot, respectively, and it's also very slow.
