Crawdaunt

Sporting a high Attack stat, Adaptability, and high-Base Power moves, Crawdaunt is an extremely powerful wallbreaker in UU capable of KOing even the bulkiest walls. Water + Dark is a deadly STAB combination that feasts on common defensive Pokemon like Hippowdon, Slowking, and Scizor, with resists to this combo like Primarina and Keldeo still taking massive damage from its Choice Band-boosted attacks. Access to a strong priority move in Aqua Jet allows Crawdaunt to bypass its low Speed and pick off targets such as Azelf and Thundurus-T, while Close Combat crushes Hydreigon and Zarude attempting to switch in. However, Crawdaunt is extremely slow, being outsped and KOed by common threats such as Cobalion and Keldeo. This, combined with its poor bulk and weaknesses to common typings, leaves it with limited opportunities to switch in and forces Crawdaunt to rely on pivots to facilitate its wallbreaking attempts.Crawdaunt faces competition as a Water-type wallbreaker from Keldeo, Primarina, and Azumarill, all of which sport superior defensive utility. However, Crawdaunt's STAB Knock Off is a relevant advantage that lets it break the likes of Amoonguss and Tangrowth more easily.
