Umbreon

Umbreon's stellar mixed bulk and Dark typing make it a strong pick on defensive teams, checking threats like Excadrill, Gyarados, Salamence, and Swords Dance + Knock Off Scizor. It provides fantastic team utility as a Wish passer, getting plenty of opportunities to heal up its teammates versus Pokemon like Azelf and Salamence. While unable to pressure some defensive Pokemon such as Amoonguss, Celesteela, and Teleport Chansey at all, Umbreon can freely use them to pass Wish, and Foul Play + Toxic greatly punishes many offensive checks switching in and prevents Umbreon from being too passive. However, it can offer a lot of opportunities to dangerous Fairy- and Fighting-types like Primarina, Cobalion, and Conkeldurr that can greatly threaten bulkier teams. Umbreon also struggles versus some of the stronger special attackers in the tier like Thundurus-T and Meteor Beam Nihilego, and chip damage can bring it into 2HKO range of Pokemon it checks like Mamoswine and Nidoking.
