Strategy Overview

Fairy

Togekiss is an effective stallbreaker on Fairy teams that helps break down defensive types like Poison, Grass, and Steel. Its ability Serene Grace synergizes with Air Slash, allowing it to threaten defensive Pokemon such as Toxapex, Slowking, Amoonguss, Galarian Weezing, and Cradily. Furthermore, its Flying typing gives the team a secondary check to Grass- and Ground-types alongside Tapu Bulu, as it can check Rillaboom, Landorus-T, and Garchomp. After Nasty Plot, Togekiss becomes a threatening wallbreaker to slower and more defensive teams. However, Togekiss struggles to find a place on Fairy teams due to its mediocre physical bulk and middling Speed. Togekiss is often restricted from switching in freely, as it is weak to Stealth Rock and Fairy teams tend to lack Defoggers due to their preference to stack entry hazards with Klefki and Clefable. However, this can be mitigated by using Heavy-Duty Boots.
