With its high Attack and abysmal Speed, Stakataka is a solid sweeper and late-game cleaner under Trick Room. Its good bulk allows it to set up Trick Room at least once and remove threats to Rock, such as Rillaboom and Scizor. While Stakataka can plow through more offensive teams, such as Dragon and Fairy teams, it struggles against teams that sport physical walls such as Toxapex and Hippowdon, which stall it out without a boost from Beast Boost. Due to this, it requires the support of special wallbreakers such as Nihilego and Omastar to pave the way for it to sweep.
