A Choice Band set gives more immediate wallbreaking power, but it is easier to play around due to both of its STAB options having immunities. When it comes to support, Flygon is one of the best Defoggers in the tier thanks to its favorable matchup against most prevalent entry hazard setters like Rhyperior and Metagross. Choice Scarf Flygon can proudly claim to be the tier's fastest Choice Scarf user and is a reliable revenge killer. Flygon excels as a pivot and almost always carries U-turn if lacking Dragon Dance. However, its average base Attack stat leaves it struggling to break through common defensive Pokemon like Gastrodon and Milotic, even when boosted. Flygon's typing also gives it an exploitable weakness to Ice-type coverage.
