Strategy Overview

Eldegoss is one of the best Rapid Spin users in the tier, thanks to it being able to deal with and status Ghost-types, such as Doublade and Jellicent. Eldegoss is also an excellent defensive pivot, mainly because Regenerator keeps it healthy without losing momentum. It can also check most of the Ground-, Water-, and Rock-types in the tier, such as Sandaconda, Jellicent, and Regirock, with ease because their best option is often just to status Eldegoss in some manner. Eldegoss also offers great support with moves such as Sleep Powder, Charm, Stun Spore, Leech Seed, and Aromatherapy. However, because of Eldegoss's lackluster coverage and Special Attack, it must resort to status against Pokemon that resist Grass such as Perrserker and Weezing. It struggles the most against other Grass-type Pokemon, such as Ferroseed, Whimsicott, and Trevenant, since they're immune to Sleep Powder and Leech Seed. Because pure Grass-types have so many weaknesses and because Eldegoss can't run all the moves it wants at once, Pokemon like Charizard and Doublade really take advantage of it.
