Despite Yamask's supportive movepool, ability to spinblock, and good bulk, it has difficulty making effective use of these traits due to its weakness to Knock Off, low Speed, and lack of recovery. This, along with its general passivity and lack of power, causes it to be outclassed by other Ghost-types in the tier that benefit from a secondary typing, less passivity, and an overall better ability, such as Frillish and Pumpkaboo-XL.
