Strategy Overview

Walrein could fulfill the role of a special wall thanks to its decent bulk. However, it's outclassed by Eelektross and Lanturn. Walrein has an okay support movepool, but despite this, it is very slow and has almost no offensive moves to back it up, making it a very passive Pokemon. Despite working best as a decent Ice-type check, it is weak to Stealth Rock and many offensive threats like Kabutops, Lycanroc, and Victreebel are able to deal a lot of damage to it. This, along with its lack of reliable recovery, makes Walrein much frailer than one would expect.
