Strategy Overview

Terrakion's high Attack stat along with an above-average Speed tier, powerful moves, and Rock typing makes it an interesting anti-metagame Pokemon in 1v1. Its unique Rock / Fighting typing lets it beat an interesting list of Pokemon such as Mega Charizard X and Y, Tapu Lele, Mega Gardevoir, Porygon-Z, and Mega Tyranitar. Furthermore, access to utility such as Taunt, Swords Dance, and Rock Tomb allows it to set up and win against stall-based targets that would otherwise just win against it, such as Type: Null, Tapunium Z Tapu Fini, stall Deoxys-S, and Registeel. Unfortunately, Terrakion's poor bulk and only above-average Speed make it susceptible to faster, more hyper offensive Pokemon like Greninja, Zeraora, Choice Scarf Haxorus, Mega Lopunny, Naganadel, Pheromosa, and offensive Deoxys-S. Lastly, Terrakion's Attack stat is high, but there are many bulky Pokemon in the metagame that can survive a hit from it, such as bulky Dragonite, Mega Slowbro, and Primarina.
