Strategy Overview

Although Tauros's Speed tier and coverage options let it threaten Pokemon like Heliolisk, Steelix, and Garbodor, its inability to reliably break common defensive Pokemon like Regirock, Rhydon, and Palossand leaves it outclassed by wallbreakers like Heliolisk, Sceptile, and Magmortar that can bypass their checks with their coverage moves and sheer power. Tauros is further hampered by its lacking defensive traits, which make it difficult to switch in and set up safely against almost anything other than Xatu, while other wallbreakers like Incineroar and Alolan Exeggutor find multiple chances to come into battle thanks to their typing and abilities.
