Relicanth faces stiff competition from the other offensive Rock-types such as Kabutops, Carracosta, and Lycanroc. Relicanth is held back by its low Speed and a middling base 90 Attack stat, not hitting as hard as other wallbreakers, especially Aggron. Relicanth's poor special bulk and common weaknesses also hold it back. Additionally, Relicanth struggles with many common Pokemon in the metagame such as Torterra and Gastrodon, limiting its effectiveness as a wallbreaker.
