Palossand

With its high Defense, Ghost / Ground typing, and reliable recovery in Shore Up, Palossand is able to lay Stealth Rock against Donphan and Forretress while also blocking their attempts to remove its entry hazards away with Rapid Spin. It also makes for a serviceable check to many of the tier's physical attackers, such as Rhyperior, Tyrantrum, Zygarde-10%, Escavalier, and Toxicroak and can lay Stealth Rock against them or use Earth Power to force them out. However, Palossand loses terribly to the tier's most common Rapid Spin user, Mega Blastoise, and fails to block Defog, doing very little to common Defoggers like Mandibuzz and Flygon, apart from Toxic. In addition, Palossand sports few valuable resistances outside of Rock, and its susceptibility to common Dark- and Grass-type attacks makes it difficult to fit onto a team and requires more specific team support to help it do its job.
