Strategy Overview
Lumineon has very few reasons to be used over other Water-type Defog users like Swanna and Silvally-Water. Swanna has reliable recovery and offers more offensive pressure with its secondary typing, while Silvally-Water has higher stats all around while still being able to serve as a defensive wall and pivot. Bar its decent Speed tier, Lumineon possesses mediocre stats that give it trouble switching into moves and dealing any offensive damage. Its lack of reliable recovery furthers this, as well as its susceptibility to all entry hazards and weakness to Toxic from hazard setters like Regirock and Alolan Sandslash, which leads to Lumineon struggling as a Defogger. Jellicent is also a far better defensive Water-type by virtue of its superior bulk, access to recovery, and a useful secondary typing.
