Strategy Overview

Lilligant's access to Quiver Dance and Sleep Powder, decent Special Attack, and Speed are offset by its mediocre bulk, movepool, and typing. Lilligant struggles to set up, and even when it does, common Pokemon such as Togedemaru, Dhelmise, Decidueye, and Alolan Exeggutor can deal with it. Moreover, it's extremely prediction reliant, as Breakneck Blitz can only be used once, leaving it susceptible to threats like Incineroar if used at the wrong time. As a Quiver Dance user, it suffers competition from Vivillon, which has a better offensive movepool and typing, giving it more setup opportunities against threats like Passimian locked into Close Combat. Lastly, it is hard to justify over other, more reliable Grass-types like Sceptile, which is faster and more immediately threatening due to its movepool and ability to run a boosting item, and Whimsicott, which has a better typing, is faster, and has numerous utility options.
