Strategy Overview
Flying
Gliscor is a fantastic wall thanks to its great natural bulk, access to reliable recovery, and ability to act as a status absorber thanks to Poison Heal. This allows it to act as a blanket check to tons of threats to Flying teams such as Latios, by being able to switch into its Draco Meteor, and Zeraora, which it walls. Its Ground typing provides Flying teams with an immunity to Electric-type coverage and a neutrality to Stealth Rock, which allows Gliscor to become an excellent Defogger for the type. With access to Taunt, Gliscor can act as a stallbreaker by preventing walls such as Chansey from recovering health and slowly wearing them down with Earthquake while also being able to prevent Pokemon such as Hippowdon from setting up Stealth Rock. However, while Gliscor brings all these amazing attributes to the team, it stacks the type's natural weakness to Ice-type coverage and can be taken advantage by faster setup sweepers such as Mega Latias.
Ground
Gliscor's good bulk and movepool let it serve as an effective stallbreaker and defensive pivot on Ground teams. Poison Heal is a great defensive ability that allows Gliscor to avoid harmful status such as burns and heals 1/8 of its health every turn after it has been poisoned by a Toxic Orb. These traits allow it to switch into passive walls like Mantine and Celesteela and threaten them with Taunt. Gliscor is also one of the best users of Knock Off on Ground teams, helping remove items like Eviolite to make certain Pokemon like Chansey easier to break past. While Gliscor's secondary Flying typing grants it a useful neutrality to Grass-type attacks, it also burdens it with a 4x weakness to Ice-type moves, letting Pokemon that have Ice-type coverage such as Porygon-Z and Kyurem-B easily force it out. In addition, Gliscor's only decent bulk means powerful wallbreakers like Mega Gallade and Hydreigon can punch through it with little issue.
