Strategy Overview

Accelgor is an adept Spikes setter, cleaner, and revenge killer thanks to its good offenses and status as the fastest unboosted Pokemon in NU, allowing it to outspeed prominent threats like Choice Scarf Passimian, Heliolisk, and Sceptile. It is also quite versatile; Choice Specs offers raw power but requires a good amount of prediction, while Fightinium Z sets offer a good amount of utility by setting Spikes and can keep themselves healthy with Recover. However, Accelgor heavily struggles against Poison-type Pokemon such as Garbodor, Golbat, and Weezing. While it excels offensively, its defensive presence is lacking despite its access to Recover due to its bad defensive typing and vulnerability to all entry hazards. As an offensive Spikes setter, Accelgor is overshadowed by Garbodor, which is an easier Pokemon to use thanks to its better defenses and defensive typing.
