Torkoal is a premier offensive Pokemon seen on Trick Room teams thanks to its great STAB moves, fantastic ability, and good defenses. Its low Speed also makes it faster than most of the tier when in Trick Room, and it has great matchups into Pokemon like Amoonguss

Some of Torkoal's strongest partners are Trick Room setters like Cresselia and Farigiraf, which can help set up Trick Room and protect it from damage with Ally Switch and Armor Tail, respectively.
