Strategy Overview

Terrakion is a superb wallbreaker and hyper offense lead, using its excellent Speed tier, immediate power, great offensive typing, and utility moves like Stealth Rock, Swords Dance, and Taunt to great effect. Focus Sash lead Terrakion can often disrupt opposing leads, like Jirachi and Krookodile, with Taunt before establishing its own entry hazard and potentially racking up damage with its powerful STAB attacks. Swords Dance Terrakion is incredibly threatening, as it can comfortably break past walls like Chesnaught and Hippowdon once they've taken a bit of chip damage. Terrakion does compete with other Fighting-types though, struggling to fulfill the role with stiff competition like Mienshao and Galarian Zapdos, which both have U-turn and Knock Off. While other hyper offense leads offer more utility, such as Healing Wish Jirachi and Endeavor Lycanroc, Terrakion remains a great option as a lead, setup sweeper, and wallbreaker.
