Strategy Overview

Scream Tail is great as both an offensive and utility Pokemon thanks to its typing, great Speed, and wonderful movepool. Calm Mind Scream Tail is a terrifying wallbreaker; it becomes very hard to KO after a few boosts, and thanks to Booster Energy giving it a free Speed boost, Scream Tail can outspeed faster threats like Kilowattrel and Choice Scarf Munkidori. Additionally, Scream Tail's great bulk and typing gives it the ability to handle powerful wallbreakers such as Flygon, Heracross, Kilowattrel, and Scyther. Its access to Stealth Rock makes it a solid entry hazard lead that can disrupt foes with Encore or Thunder Wave. However, Scream Tail's poor Special Attack makes it easy for special walls like Alolan Muk, Gastrodon, and Diancie to tank its attacks even after a Calm Mind boost. Scream Tail can also be forced to heal due to repeatedly switching in against moves that it resists from wallbreakers like Heracross, Infernape, and Scrafty.
