Raging Bolt

Assault Vest Raging Bolt makes the most of its titanic statline to check a variety of threats in the tier while leveraging disruptive utility moves to dictate the pace of battle for its teammates. Its monstrous Special Attack stat allows it to put out high damage with minimal investment and focus on maximizing its bulk, stat checking a large variety of special attackers present in the format. However, Raging Bolt sports an abysmal matchup against Landorus and a poor matchup against Ursaluna-B, two of the most common special wallbreakers in the format, as it can't threaten enough damage to incapacitate them or use its powerful Electric-Type STAB moves safely around them. Additionally, Raging Bolt's low Speed leaves it vulnerable to Ice-types and other Dragon-types in the format, having to rely on its titanic bulk or Terastallization to survive these matchups. Overall, while Raging Bolt's impressive stats and excellent movepool give it a fantastic toolkit that can impact almost any board, its typing hinders it against a large portion of the Doubles metagame's strongest attackers and prevents it from being truly elite.
