Strategy Overview

  • Okidogi's main role is to stay on the field to deal consistent damage and pressure common Pokemon like Incineroar and Rillaboom. Okidogi uses its Guard Dog ability to punish any Pokemon with the Intimidate ability, such as Incineroar and Hisuian Arcanine, that switch in. Thanks to its Poison typing, Okidogi can take on Fairy-types like Flutter Mane and Tera Fairy Pokemon such as Gholdengo and Raging Bolt.

  • Okidogi is best on teams where it can utilize its bulk and utility, such as balance or bulky offense. Grimmsnarl gives Okidogi dual screens and Thunder Wave support. Thunder Wave allows Okidogi to outspeed the Ogerpon formes. Galarian Moltres can give Okidogi spread Dark-type damage in Fiery Wrath to hit Gholdengo. Roaring Moon acts as a switch-in to Expanding Force from foes like Iron Crown, threatening huge damage with Knock Off and providing Okidogi with Tailwind to patch up its mediocre Speed. Okidogi helps Roaring Moon in return by beating Flutter Mane, Raging Bolt, and Incineroar. Ogerpon-W helps defeat Landorus, while Okidogi can help Ogerpon-W by beating Raging Bolt, Rillaboom, and Urshifu.

  • Because of Okidogi's poor defensive typing, it struggles to take on Pokemon such as Landorus, Landorus-T, Iron Crown, and Tornadus. Okidogi isn't that bulky, meaning it cannot trade damage that well. This means that Okidogi needs dual screens support to do so better.
