Dragonite's great movepool, well-rounded stats, great ability in Inner Focus that makes it immune to Fake Out and Intimidate from Incineroar, and stellar matchups into threats like Urshifu-R, Rillaboom, and Ogerpon-W makes Dragonite a great Pokemon in Regulation F.

When holding a Choice Band, Dragonite becomes one of the scariest Pokemon in the metagame for its breaking power. Its best partner, Chien-Pao, supports it with Sword of Ruin and pressures Pokemon that prevent Extreme Speed, such as Indeedee and Flutter Mane. Dragonite and Chien-Pao also are good into Rillaboom and Ogerpon-W, making Dondozo and Tatsugiri, which struggle with these two, great partners as well.

Flutter Mane is also a great partner, as it breaks through Iron Hands and Gholdengo for Dragonite, while Dragonite is a great switch into Scarf Urshifu-R and Rillaboom.
