Strategy Overview

Wigglytuff is barely viable in PU due to its ability to set up Stealth Rock and pressure Defog users with its ability Competitive and its wide movepool that gives it a plethora of good coverage, like Fire Blast, to choose from. Though Wigglytuff boasts a great HP stat, its defenses are low, which means it is easy to wear down and revenge kill. It also has a mediocre Speed stat, which makes it hard for it to function as an offensive Pokemon and causes it to be outsped and checked by common threats such as Stoutland and Leafeon. In general, there are better options for bulky attackers and Stealth Rock setters, but Wigglytuff plays a unique role by being a bulky special attacker and Stealth Rock setter with the ability to boost its Special Attack thanks to Competitive.
